Jim Wright presents programs on ANTIQUES AND
COLLECTIBLES including what to collect, when to buy, where
to buy it and condition. He can customize for your group with
a 20-minute presentation or a two-hour seminar including appraising
of items brought in by attendees. He has owned an antique business
for 17 years and is in the fourth year of delivering his appraisal seminars.
He teaches antique history at Indiana University and at Purdue
University .
Also with 40 years of experience as
musician, performer, emcee and organizer of musical festivals,
he delivers a program on "SO YOU WANT TO BE A ROCK N'
ROLL STAR!" for high school groups and young adults.
It includes how to get started and occupations for people who
don't have performing talents while discouraging drugs and the
supposed glamour related to the entertainment industry.
Jim is president of the Portage IN, Historical Society
and past president of the Portage Downtown Business Association. He also is
past president of Portage Lions and past Lions state youth
chairman.
His book on the history of the City of Portage is scheduled
for spring 2003 release, and he is currently writing a
Chicagoland music history..
