Dr. Maxcine C. Maxfield
Dr.
Maxcine C. Maxfield is nationally
recognized as a powerful and engaging keynote speaker, workshop
leader and author in the field of Alzheimer's, compassionate
caregiving and a variety of issues in gerontology, aging and
prevention of elder abuse.
She is an appointed member of the Virginia Governor's Coalition
of Alzheimer's and Related Dementias and a member of the legislative
committee of the Virginia Alliance for the Prevention of Elder
Abuse.
Max is an associate clinical professor at the Virginia Commonwealth
University School of Nursing, Medical College of Virginia and
a training specialist and clinical nurse specialist at the Piedmont
Geriatric Hospital.
She holds a Ph.D. in gerontology and adult education from the
Union Institute. Her master's degree is in psychiatric/mental
health nursing, and her B.S. Degree is in nursing. She is certified
by ANA as a clinical specialist in adult psychiatric and mental
health nursing and is trained as a grievance presenter and forensic
examiner. She was honored as a 1999 Janseen Clinical Scholar.
