George Kilpatrick
George
Kilpatrick is a respected multimedia advocate for the quiet
majority of people who are models of success but whose stories
often go untold.
A New York City
native, Kilpatrick provides talent, leadership, and production, in
television and radio. Kilpatrick is a talk show host, producer,
morning drive news anchor, and columnist. His uplifting social
commentary “The Kilpatrick Report” appears monthly.
He created the
position of Director of Community Affairs, for WCNY TV, to build a
bridge to viewers making the station more accessible and
responsive.
Kilpatrick is
comfortable delivering scripted and unscripted live, and live to
tape television and radio programs. His diverse talents are equally
adept discussing the news of the day, in his unique urbane style,
while allowing room for pop culture and the whimsical.
Kilpatrick's
passion as an interviewer helps guests feel comfortable while
keeping his listeners engaged. He gets to the heart of issues and
seeks to uncover what others may miss in his witty, dynamic, and fun
style. Whether they agree or disagree, his listeners and viewers
love his zest for life.
He produces and
co-hosts “Hour CNY”, on WCNY TV, one of the longest locally produced
television talk shows in Upstate New York. Kilpatrick received the
2002 Media Award from the New York State Association of Retarded
Citizens (NYSARC) for best television show in New York State raising
awareness about mental retardation.
Kilpatrick is
host, creator, and producer, of “Access with George Kilpatrick”, on
WCNY TV, providing a forum for underrepresented voices. Viewers
describe feeling more comfortable standing up for what they believe
in because of the show.
Kilpatrick also
produces “Central Issues”, WCNY TV's prime time award winning public
affairs program of hot stories, newsmakers, and divergent views. He
is proud of his efforts to use the power of this program to reduce
youth violence. Kilpatrick organized a community collaboration that
assisted crime victims with their grief, while exploring the
intergenerational conflict between elders and youth.
Understanding the
intimacy, portability, and immediacy of radio, Kilpatrick stars in a
radio program that bears his name the “George Kilpatrick Show” on
Clear Channel Radio WSYR. He uses his show to challenge his
audience to be the very best in all things, dispel stereotypes, and
to “keep it real”.
George Kilpatrick
lends his time and talents to creating a better community for all.
Kilpatrick was the driving force, and one of the lead organizers,
and founders for the first ever Juneteenth celebration in Syracuse,
N.Y. The event is now one of the city's largest.
